PALM COAST, Fla. – A man has been charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted a girl who was between the ages of 9 and 12, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said.

The Sheriff's Office received a report in January of a sexual offense that happened in Flagler County sometime between 1992 and 1995.

During the investigation, the victim revealed to detectives that she had been sexually assaulted on multiple dates when she was between the ages of 9 and 12 by Andrew Wilson, who is now 56 years old, deputies said.

The victim told detectives that Wilson would give her alcoholic beverages and force her to perform a sexual act on him, deputies said.

She said after a few times, she began pretending to fall asleep after drinking the alcohol, but this did not stop Wilson from performing various types of sexual acts on her, the Sheriff's Office said.

Detectives obtained a warrant Wednesday, charging Wilson with one count of sexual battery on a person less than 12 years of age. Deputies said Wilson was arrested without incident shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Investigative Services Division.

Wilson was later booked into the Flagler County Jail and is being held under a $500,000 bond, deputies said.

Detectives are asking anyone who might have information about the investigation, or who may have been victimized by Wilson, to call the Sheriff's Office Investigative Services Division at 386-586-4801, deputies said.
