Cars and People in the Skygit River

Mount Vernon, Wash -  Washington State Police says the Interstate 5 bridge over the Skygit River in Mount Vernon collapsed Thursday evening dumping people and cars into the water.

Trooper Mark Francis says he had no immediate reports of injuries or deaths or how many people maybe in the water.

A reporter with the Skygit Valley Times at the scene reports that a sheriff's rescue boat is on scene and rescue crews are in the water searching for people.
