MIDDLEBERG, Fla. – The suspect sought in a series of pawn shop thefts in Clay County has been identified as a registered sexual predator from Jacksonville, according to deputies.
Albert Walden is wanted on warrants out of Jacksonville. After surveillance video of the pawn shop theft aired on the news and was posted on the Clay County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, deputies said they received calls about the suspect's identity, which was then confirmed.

Deputies said Walden stole from the same pawn shop twice within three days.
On Saturday, deputies were called to Middleberg Pawn after employee John Charles Plummer noticed a case of 12 rings, valued at about $2,400, missing from the display case.
Deputies said Plummer has surveillance video of the man reaching over the counter, opening the display case, selecting the items, then leaving the store without paying.
Police were called again to Middleberg Pawn on Monday after owner Stephen Brian Soos said a man walked into the shop, attempted to open a jewelry display and failed.
The man then reportedly reached behind the counter, grabbed a Samsung Galaxy tablet, valued at approximately $499, put it under his jacket and left the shop without paying.
Anyone with information about Walden's location is asked to call local law enforcement.
