JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A group called the Dream Defenders, some carrying Skittles and iced tea, walked three miles to the new courthouse in downtown Jacksonville late Sunday afternoon, calling for justice for Trayvon Martin.
"No justice! No peace!" some yelled.
They were people of all ages and all races. They made noise, called for moments of silence, and finally, walked in honor of Trayvon Martin.
They called it a peaceful protest, calling for change and love in the community.
Some said Saturday's verdict made them lose faith in the justice system. Others spoke out against Angela Corey, saying second degree murder should never have been on the table.
"I think Angela Corey set us up for failure with the second-degree murder charge, and I thought it was a joke to begin with, so I wasn't surprised," said one protestor.
Those with the Dream Defenders told Channel 4 they plan to protest again at a rally at the governor's office in Tallahassee later this week. The protestors said this is all about peace and seeing a change for the better.
