NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is trying to identify a person who was hit by a vehicle and killed Wednesday night in Nassau County.
Around 11:45 p.m. troopers said a vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 95, just south of State Road 200 in Yulee, when it struck a person walking in the roadway.

The pedestrian died at the scene and the vehicle did not stop.
Troopers do not have a description of the vehicle involved, becuase there were no witnesses to the crash and limited evidence at this time.
There was no identification of the pedestrian who was struck and killed at the scene. Once the person is identified and next of kin is notified, the victim's name will be released to the public.
