JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A car hit a man on Beach Boulevard late Friday evening, sending him to the hospital.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the man was hit after he walked into the street east of Anniston Road just before 11 p..m. A witness called 911 and diverted traffic away from the man until police arrived.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue took the man to to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injures. His identity was not immediately known.
Police were investigating, but there was no word if there would be any charges.
