The group eventually started canvassing the neighborhoods in the area.

The local chapter of Fidelity Lodge held the event, the third time it has held one of these rallies.

Organizers said they're not simply rallying against the type of violence seen on the news, such as a shooting, but they're targeting all types of violence, like domestic violence and bullying.

"There's a lot of violence, and violence not even spoken about other than what you see on the news," said Kenneth Wright, of Fidelity Lodge #251. "(We) want to see people come out here and talk to some people, and try to have some conduits and avenues and some help."

The Lodge said its organization includes a lot of counselors, ministers and police officers who can help people dealing with potential violence in their lives.
