Person of interest identified in woman's murder

Neighbor hasn't been seen since Kharah Norman, 23, found dead in apartment

LAKE CITY, Fla. – Lake City police are searching for a person of interest they want to speak to in connection with a woman's murder nearly two weeks ago.

Printiss Donaldson is being sought for questioning in the death of 23-year-old Kharah Asia Norman (pictured below). Investigators believe that he is staying somewhere in Georgia.

Donaldson has several outstanding warrants in Georgia unrelated to Norman's case. There has not been an arrest warrant issued in connection with Norman's murder.

Norman was found dead Aug. 23 in her apartment on Church Avenue.

Police did not release the cause of death, but family, friends and neighbors said she was stabbed.

Police said they are searching for Donaldson because he lived in the apartment complex, but he hasn't been seen since her murder.

Meanwhile, Kharah Norman's family is still in pain.

"She was just always so sweet. She didn't deserve this," Shayla Norman, Kharah Norman's older sister, said.

A memorial for Kharah Norman continues to grow outside the apartment where she was killed.

"It's been hard. It's been real hard not being able to eat or sleep," Shayla Norman said. "It's a pain that doesn't go away. It's all day, every day, just this pain."

It's also been painful for Kharah Norman's mother, Robin Norman.

"I'm trying to imagine what she went through," Robin Norman said. "You feel the pain in your heart, like it just happened."

Investigators said they've spoken to many people in the area, but they haven't been able to interview Donaldson.

"It's a little bit off if someone resides there, they have a major incident happen at that location, and they disappear," Lake City Police spokesman Craig Strickland said. "He may be on vacation, planned vacation, or something."

Police and family members aren't sure if Donaldson knew Kharah Norman.

Police said they have few clues and no eyewitnesses or surveillance video. Investigators said it doesn't appear that someone tried to force their way into Kharah Norman's apartment.

Norman's loved ones are hoping for justice.

"It would help us feel a little better that this person who did this horrible thing is caught, and they can't do it to anyone else's daughter," Robin Norman said.

She said she remembers her daughter's smile, her laugh and the way she touched people's hearts.

"Just knowing that I will never get a call or a text or her asking me to do her hair or just anything, that's hard," Shayla Norman said.

Anyone with information on the case or Donaldson's location is asked to contact Investigator David Greear at 386-752-4343.

Tips may be submitted anonymously to the Lake City Police Department by email at tips@lcflapd.com or call anonymously on the TIP line at 386-719-2068.

Investigators said it could be at least another four weeks before results from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement come back with more details about the murder. That information could also contain DNA results.
