Flagler County Sheriff's deputies rescue injured owl

Owl may have been hit by a car, deputies say

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Flagler County sheriff's deputies were praised on social media Wednesday morning after their heroic rescue of one of the cutest Flagler County residents, WKMG reports.

Deputy David Lichty, Deputy J. Gibson Smith and Sergeant Daniel Weaver rescued an owl on CR 13 in Geneva Tuesday night. The owl may have been hit by a car, deputies said.

After they safely retrieved the owl, Deputy Lichty took it to the Flagler Animal Hospital for treatment. The owl has since been taken to a private institute for further analyzing.
