Hang in there, baby: Dangling kitten rescued from tree

'Branch' adopted by Atlantic Beach family after rescue

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – Some kids collect pine cones that fall from trees, but one Atlantic Beach family collected something much cuter this week.

A kitten trapped high in a tree on Sailfish Drive was rescued Thursday afternoon by an  Atlantic Beach city employee.

A neighbor tried to get the scared kitten out of the tree for hours and posted a photo on the Atlantic Beach community Facebok page, asking to borrow a ladder.

The Atlantic Beach city manager saw the post and sent help. A city employee climbed a ladder and scooped up the frightened feline.

The kitten was adopted by the neighbor and her family. They named her Branch.

There's no word on how many of Branch's nine lives were used up in the ordeal.
