Police: 2 arrested after melee in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A man and woman were arrested Monday in Gainesville after a melee involving the mother of the man's child, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

Police said Willie Jackson, 27, and Ebony Robinson, 23, met with Jackson's child's mother Monday and a melee ensued. Police said Robinson struck the victim with her vehicle, punched her and tore off her bra and hair weave while the victim clung to the windshield wipers.

Police said Robinson, who was also found to have 1.5 grams of marijuana on her person, was charged with aggravated battery, marijuana possession and drug equipment possession. She was booked into the Alachua County Jail on $6,000 bond.

Jackson, a two-time convicted felon who was seated in the vehicle with a new box of 9mm ammunition under his seat, was charged with possession of weapon or ammo by a convicted felon. A 9mm High Point handgun was also found in the trunk.
Jackson was booked into the Alachua County Jail on $20,000 bond.
