Dakota Wade Chestnut of Gaston, South Carolina, was arrested at his home Wednesday and charged with transmitting a false public alarm. The arrest was made by the Lexington County Sheriff's Office, where he is currently incarcerated.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the Glynn County Police Department, the Long County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

According to the Brunswick News, the bomb threat was called into a customer service representative at the courthouse about 2:30 p.m. Police say Southeast Georgia Health System and unspecified county properties on St. Simons Island were included in the bomb threat.

By 4:30 p.m., the Harold Pate Building was cleared for people to re-enter, and the courthouses were cleared shortly after that.

A spokesperson for hospital said it was not evacuated but was searched and nothing suspicious was found.
