Police bust prostitution ring at senior home
Elderly residents also accused of allowed crack use in apartments
A prostitution ring has been busted in a New Jersey senior citizen housing complex and a 75-year-old resident is accused of running it.
NBC 4 New York reports that James Parham, 75, was accused employing some elderly residents as sex workers. Parham, along with fellow resident Cheryl Chaney, 66, was also accused of allowing residents and visitors to use crack in their apartments. Both Parham and Chaney are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a nuisance, and Chaney is also charged with possession of crack cocaine.
Sex and drug use were reportedly going on in common areas of the complex, causing some seniors to be afraid to venture into certain areas because they were afraid for their lives. A lack of security in the building is believed to have contributed to the problem.
