Police called to reported abduction

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office asks for public's help identifying 2 people involved

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two people involved in a reported abduction on the Northside.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded at 5:06 p.m. Thursday to the Northwood Apartments on Dunn Avenue in reference to a report of an abduction.

A witness observed a woman trying to get away from a vehicle when she dropped her purse on Biscayne Boulevard.

Authorities said a man picked up the purse, placed it in a vehicle and then the woman was physically picked up and placed inside the vehicle.

The vehicle was described as a white Dodge Durango with dark tinted windows and black fender flares. (Surveillance photo, right, shows vehicle.)

At this time, JSO said they are trying to identify the two people involved and ensure they are safe.

The man is described as tall with gray hair, and wore jean shorts and a baby blue shirt. JSO said the woman is in her late 30s, has long blonde hair and has a petite build. She wore jean shorts and a maroon tank.
