JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching a Westside area for a missing 75-year-old man.

The JSO dive team was called to a pond in the 7800 block of Gregory Drive near Oak Hill Nazarene Church about 11:30 a.m. Monday in connection with the disappearance of Gustafo Loli.

Police were also searching the woods for any clues. They were also passing out flyers in hopes of getting some answers.

Loli was last seen on foot leaving his home on Foxdale Drive at 3:30 p.m. Friday and has not been seen nor heard from since.

"He just waked away and we can't find him," said Loli's son, Omar.

He said his father was last seen feeding ducks in his backyard. A short time later, he was gone.

"My mom, my sister, and I, I can't sleep actually," Omar said. "It's very hard to sleep right now. Hopefully, everything turns out alright."

Police said Loli moved to Jacksonville from New York with his family just one month ago, and he likely doesn't know his way around.

"He does not speak English. Spanish only," said JSO Lt. Rob Schoonover. "That's going to be another hindrance if he's trying to ask for help. He's going to have an issue there. Anyone who encounters this individual please keep that in mind."

According to JSO, Loli is an insulin dependent diabetic and has been diagnosed in the late stages of dementia.

Loli was last seen wearing a white shirt, purple pajama pants and black sandals. At this time, deputies said there is no foul play suspected.

His family prays that someone who knows something will come forward, and they hope Gustavo will come home safely.

"I am asking for everybody's help in bringing good news and try to help me with my father please," Omar said.

Anyone who has any information in regards to the whereabouts of Loli is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
