JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 57-year-old woman who suffered life-threatening injuries after a tree landed on her car last week, causing a crash, has died, police said.
Barbara Pearson was driving southbound on Jammes Road when lightning struck a tree and it fell on her car, which then crashed into a ditch.

Pearson was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be rescued. She was taken to UF Health with critical injuries and died at the hospital Tuesday, police said.
