Missing man found dead in Arlington apt.

Man's family reported him missing to police Tuesday; victim's car still missing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man whose family was concerned that he was missing was found dead Tuesday inside his apartment on Bert Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The man found was described as a black man about 45 years old.

JSO Sgt. Craig Waldrup said police suspect foul play in the man's death and that the victim's 2010 silver Nissan Cube crossover is missing.

Police said they checked the man's apartment after family members called them about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to express their concern that they hadn't seen the man in several days.

Neighbors like Ricardo Edmonson were stunned to hear about what happened.

"It makes you kind of uneasy being so close to home," said Edmonson. "Hopefully we'll get some answers and they'll be in my prayers."

Waldrup said no suspect information was available but the investigation was just beginning.

News4JAX originally reported the incident happened at the Arlington Village Apartments. That was inaccurate and the name has since been removed.
