JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead Thursday morning in a semi truck cab near the Burger King on Commonwealth Avenue, just of Interstate 295.
Police said the truck has been sitting on the street behind the fast-food chain since Monday, and they do not suspect foul play in the man's death. Police have not yet identified the man.

"We certainly are going to take every extraordinary effort we do to make sure that we conduct a thorough investigation here at the scene," Sgt. Chuck Ford said.
They said the truck was running and a dog was found inside the cab. Animal Care and Protective Services responded and took the dog.
"The dog is alive and OK," Ford said.
Ford said police are contacting the trucking company to help identify the driver and contact his family.
