Witnesses: Man pulled wife out of her apartment against her will

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The man accused of kicking in his 22-year-old wife's door and taking her against her will was arrested Saturday afternoon on a long list of charges and his wife was found safe.

Walter Johnson appeared in court on Sunday. He now faces kidnapping, assault, and sexual battery charges. 

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Moncrief Village Apartments on East Moncrief Village Street. Officers learned that Walter Johnson, 31, kicked in the door of his 22-year-old wife's apartment and pulled her out of the unit.

Johnson and Keshauna Freeman Johnson were last seen walking northwest from the complex. Police believed the suspect had no access to a vehicle.

Just after 8 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Dan Jansen told News4Jax both of them were found.

As he was being booked, Johnson was also served with outstanding arrest warrants including 2 additional counts of battery, aggravated assault, resisting an officer without violence and failure to comply with sexual offender requirements.
