The victim stated he was attacked at about 7:50 p.m. on Saturday while walking along McCarty Drive between Newins-Ziegler Hall and the McCarty Hall parking lot, the Gainesville Sun reported.

He said a man walked up behind him, grabbed him by the arm and led him into nearby woods, police said.

According to the report the man then sexually battered the victim and left the area on foot. University police said no weapons were used in the attack.

The victim described the man as a white male with tan skin, 5'8," 150 lbs., with light brown hair. The man was wearing blue jeans and a brownish, reddish polo shirt.

Police said there appeared to be no connections between this incident and reports of other attacks on women around campus in late August and early September.
