Police search for hit-and-run suspect

29-year-old in serious condition at UF Health

ST. JOHNS, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol and police are searching for a hit-and-run suspect that left a 29-year-old man in serious condition in last month.

FHP said around 1:45 a.m. on August 18, 29-year-old Scott Pierce was crossing Fruit Cove Road South near U.S. 13 when he was struck by a westbound vehicle.

Pierce was taken to  UF Health of Jacksonville with serious injuries.

The only description troopers had of the suspect vehicle was dark colored with four tail lights. No other information is known at this time.

FHP is still investigating whether alcohol was involved.
