Police search for suspect in CVS robbery

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are on the lookout for a man who they say robbed a CVS on Normandy Boulevard Monday.

Officials said the man came into the store and acted like he was buying a pack of fruit flavored Mentos before lifting his shirt and flashing a shiny object that he had in his waistband.

According to police, the man then demanded that the store clerk grab a plastic bag and fill it with money without looking at the suspect. Once he had the money the suspect took off on foot.

Police said the suspect was described as a black male between 37 and 42 years old, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He was wearing a camouflaged hat, dark collared shirt, faded blue pants and blue slip on shoes.

People with information can also contact Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS, where they may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
