NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – The Neptune Beach City Council tabled a proposal Monday night that would ban paragliders at Jacksonville's beaches.
This comes after some residents have made complaints about noise and some gliders flying too low.

At the meeting, Councilman Scott Wiley recommended the ordinance not move forward. He said the recreational flyers have agreed to make changes, and they will attempt to self-regulate.
One of the paraglider pilots, Leslie Britt, attended the meeting. She believes the issue can be resolved without an ordinance.
"We've all agreed there will be no flying over houses, (and) no flying over the decks," said Britt. "Take off and just kind of go away -- just cruise the beach don't stay in the general vicinity of where you launched."
The guidelines that were agreed to are being posted on social media sites. They will also be put on both state and national websites that are frequently used by the pilots.
