PUTNAM CO., Fla. – A Putnam County firefighter was injured on the job Friday evening.
According to Capt. Joseph Wells with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, the firefighter was injured when a tree fell on a fire truck.

The firefighter was transported to Putnam Community Medical Center by ambulance at about 6:50pm. Capt. Wells told News4Jax the firefighter is expected to be alright.
The firefighter was one of many battling a brush fire that started off of Stokes Landing Road at about 2:30pm Friday. The brush fire grew to about 30 acres, but Capt Wells said crews had it under control by 6:30pm.
