Reggae Sunday returns to Conch House

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Reggae Sunday has returned to the Conch House in St. Augustine, three weeks after a brawl Memorial Day weekend.

St. Augustine police were added to the security around the Conch House Sunday as a precaution. Security told News4JAX they were brough in just for today.

Some of the changes the city had asked for included adding another exit at the dock, adding more parking spaces and adding off-duty police patrols to the area.

A patron of the Conch House said he's not pleased with the changes.

"It's (the environment) very dead," said Jonathan Elsen, a patron. "They brought the price up, so it's not very fun to pay more money and hang out with less people."

News4JAX was not allowed into the restaurant. Conch House management would not comment about the changes and ordered all media off the property.
