JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Anthony Ray Christopher, 30, was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison for his conviction of armed robbery.

In July 2010, Christopher robbed the Kangaroo gas station on Old Middleburg Road. Surveillance video showed the defendant entering the store and walking around, looking at items near the register. As Christopher engaged in conversation with the victim, who was working behind the register, he pulled out a pistol, took the victim's smartphone, demanded the $96 in the cash register and fled.

Christopher then listed the stolen phone for sale on Craigslist. When the purchaser found out the phone was stolen, he contacted the victim. Investigators tracked down the defendant through the information listed on the Craigslist posting.

Since Christopher has a prior conviction for robbery in Camden County, Georgia, he was designated a prison-release re-offender and sentenced under those guidelines.
