A 7-year-old boy found dead at an apartment in the Hogan's Creek earlier this month died of accidental asphyxiation by hanging, according to an autopsy report from the Medical Examiner's Office.

Brailand McCray was found dead about 7:45 p.m. July 5 at the home in the 1200 block of North Broad Street.

McCray had 2-inch ligature marks around his neck, according to the report.

Several neighbors said he was found in a closet.
