Report: St. Augustine lost money from 'Gentlemen of the Road Stopover'

Preliminary financial summary shows city spent more than it took in

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The City of St. Augustine ran the numbers on last month's "Gentlemen of the Road" event featuring Mumford and Sons and learned they actually lost money.

In a a preliminary report released on Wednesday, the Department of Public Affairs found the city took in $526,390, but they accrued expenses of $533,966 -- a difference of $7,576.

Parking and transit management -- along with site development and public safety -- were the areas that most exceeded the budget numbers.

The city is settling a few more invoices, but those are not expected to alter the final report.
