Report: St. Augustine lost money from 'Gentlemen of the Road Stopover'
Preliminary financial summary shows city spent more than it took in
The City of St. Augustine ran the numbers on last month's "Gentlemen of the Road" event featuring Mumford and Sons and learned they actually lost money.
In a a preliminary report released on Wednesday, the Department of Public Affairs found the city took in $526,390, but they accrued expenses of $533,966 -- a difference of $7,576.
Parking and transit management -- along with site development and public safety -- were the areas that most exceeded the budget numbers.
The city is settling a few more invoices, but those are not expected to alter the final report.
