Temperature violations, raw food stored improperly at local restaurants

Restaurant Report Card

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – In this week's restaurant report card, there were no closures in our area.  We did find temperature violations, raw food stored over ready-to-eat food and other problems that could get you sick.

Elephant Thai Restaurant on Old Baymeadows Road was cited with three high priority violations.  The inspector caught an employee touching food with their bare hands without an approved plan to do so. Also raw beef was stored over several ready to eat items in the cooler.  Elephant Thai Restaurant will need a recheck soon to make sure it's following state rules.

Burrito Gallery Express in Jacksonville Beach was also  cited with three high priority violations.  The had to stop selling pork because it wasn't cooled properly.  They also had to get rid of beef for temperature abuse according to the report.  Burrito Gallery Express was cleared five days later with zero high priority violations.

Dancin Dragon and Dim Sum Room on Southside Boulevard got our attention with six high priority violations.  This was prompted by a complaint.  The inspector wrote they had to throw out cream with mold on it, correct the placement of eggs stored over vegetables and throw out a can of dented beans. Our Restaurant Report Card has been to this restaurant before.  The manager talked with us again and explained that she fixed the problems and that the mold and dented cans were products that they weren't using,
