JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Part of Riverside Avenue was shut down early Thursday morning because of a scooter crash.

According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, a vehicle hit the scooter. The driver of the scooter was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Channel 4 producer who witnessed the crash said witnesses started helping the scooter driver after the crash.

Two lanes of Riverside Avenue near the YMCA heading toward downtown were blocked for part of the morning rush hour.
