RV City open to Florida-Georgia fans
People waiting in line since last Thursday
RV City opened Wednesday morning to Florida-Georgia fans who've been waiting outside the gates. They were let in at 8 a.m.
More than 100 recreational vehicles and coaches were lined up around EverBank Field waiting to get in.
Chris Chaney was first in line. He arrived last Thursday at the crack of dawn. He described what it takes to be No. 1 at a big event like this.
"Dedication. Determination. You got to out think number 2 and the rest of them," said Chaney.
Ron Skinner also arrived early. He said RV City is a tradition that's grown over the years.
"I've got a son 40-years-old and when he started coming here he couldn’t even spell football. He couldn’t even hardly say football," said Skinner.
Skinner said once you get to know everyone over the years, you don't want to miss the next one.
The Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs fans say they stick together, no matter how good or bad the team is playing that season.
"They’re kind of like the Jaguars. You gotta hang with them. They might not be doing the best but they still in there," said Skinner.
Some people are upset parking prices for RV City went up. The regulars say they've noticed a smaller crowd waiting outside the gates this year. They also don't understand why prices are going up yet no amenities like water, power and sewer hook-up are accessible.
