No injuries when car hits school bus on Westside

Students were on the bus when the crash occurred on Lenox Avenue

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duval County school officials say 22 students were on board a school bus when it was rear-ended by a car on the Westside Friday morning, but police say none were injured.

According to a witness, it happened around 7:30 a.m. on Lenox Avenue in front of the Potter's House Soul Food Bistro.

A picture obtained by News4Jax shows a small car hit the rear of the bus. The students were headed to Douglas Anderson and Landon Middle School at the time.

The bus was from the Birnie Bus Company, and another bus arrived to take the students on to school.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has not said if any charges would be filed.
