School bus backs into pick up truck

No students were on board the Clay County school bus at the time

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Clay County school bus collided with a pickup truck on Friday afternoon.

The Florida Highway Patrol says a Clay County school bus was stopped in the left turn lane on Oakleaf Plantation Parkway at 3:15 p.m. and a 44-year-old Thomas Mitchell was stopped in the turn lane directly behind the school bus.

The bus began backing up and the rear of the bus collided with the front of Mitchell's Ford F-150. The driver of the school bus said he was lost and was attempting to back up and get out of the turning lane. He also said he did not see Mitchell behind him.

No students were on the bus at the time and Mitchell only suffered minor injuries.
