A school lunch menu has some parents and students angry at a Northern California private all-girl Christian high school.
The Daily Mail and the Huffington Post report the students at Carondelet High wanted to so something to celebrate Black History Month. The girls decided to make it a celebratory lunch.
When the school released the menu, students found fried chicken, watermelon and cornbread on the list.
The controversial menu has some calling it racial and has left the school apologizing for the decision and removing the food items.
The Associated Press reported the school's principal, Nancy Libby, is planning to hold a diversity assembly for students and faculty.
A spokesperson for the school said the administration didn't plan or give permission to allow the items on the menu.
