JSO: Sexual predator wanted for failing to register

Mikeal Patchin

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a Lake County man wanted on a charge of failing to register as a sexual predator.

An active warrant has been issued for 26-year-old Mikeal Patchin's arrest on $150,000 bond. His last known address was in the 8100 block of North Old Kings Road on the Northside.

"He's no longer living there. We've checked the address, and he's not there anymore. He's to the best of our knowledge gone. He's not reporting where he's living and that's why a warrant was put out," JSO spokesman Christian Hancock said. "We've got a young man who is a sexual predator, and he's wanted for failing to register as well as violation of probation."

Hancock said because of his crime, Patchin is required to check in once a quarter with his probation officer, and he has not been doing that.

Patchin is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and 205 pounds. According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement sexual offender database he was convicted of sexual battery for an incident in February 2008 involving coercion of a child over the age of 12 but under the age of 18.

News4Jax crime and safety expert Gil Smith said at this point Patchin is only wanted for failing to register, but the public should still be aware.

"If anyone sees Patchin anywhere, call police," Smith said. "He may not be at the Old Kings Road address. He could be anywhere. That's why the JSO put his info on their site. If he's seen, just call police. Don't approach. Just let police know where he is or where you saw him last, and they'll follow up from there."

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
