JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 58-year-old man was sentenced this week to indefinite confinement at the Florida Civil Commitment Center in Arcadia, Florida.
Donald Earl Leuderalbert has a criminal history of committing various sexual offenses on children that dates back to 1982. In 1990, Leuderalbert was convicted of two counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a child under 16 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison on each of the two counts.

In 1996, Leuderalbert was released on conditional release before returning in 1998 for a violation.
Leuderalbert was again released on conditional release in August of 2003 but returned in November 2003 for failing to comply with the conditions of his release.
Experts found that Leuderalbert suffers from a mental abnormality that makes him likely to engage in acts of sexual violence if not confined in a secure facility for long-term control, care and treatment.
After hearing all of the evidence at trial, a jury determined that Leuderalbert is a sexually violent predator and should be housed at the commitment center.
