9. Shazam. This incredible app lets users "listen" to ambient music and find out the title of the song or artist.

JACKSONVILLE, Fl. – Most people use the application, Shazam, for finding out the name of a song and the artist or band that sings the song.  Now Shazam wants users to use the app for more than just music.

Digital Trends reports, the CEO of Shazam, Rich Riley, says the company wants to allow app users to be able to identify objects.  Riley says users would use their smartphone's cameras to capture a picture of an unknown object.  Shazam would then identify what the object is, just like the app identifies music.

Riley stated Shazam would give more than what the object is identified as.  Riley says nutritional value could be given for food.

Shazam has been around since 2002.  There's no word on when Shazam would launch the object recognition feature.
