The outage lasted about seven hours, but 911 services were still operating properly throughout the outage.

The administrative phone system to the Clay County Sheriff's Office was also knocked offline.

Clay County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Mary Justino said during the power outage when computers were down, Communications Center members kept the dispatching of deputies going using the back-up, fail-safe system of handwritten cards (pictured), while technicians worked to get everything rebooted.
