SJC deputy on patrol with new K-9

Investigators said Baron was chasing a man involved in a domestic disturbance call last week and was later found dead in a body of water off State Road 207. SJCSO believes a man running from deputies drowned Baron.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The St. Johns County deputy whose K-9 Baron was killed last month by a man trying to avoid arrest has a new partner: Grimm.

The Sheriff's Office shared the photo above of Deputy Farrah Ashe with the new K-9 she was assigned last week.

In an emotional memorial service for Baron (pictured, right) attended by hundreds of law enforcement officers and St. Augustine residents, Ashe told her departed partner: "You got that bad man, buddy; you got him."
