JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – She spent months visiting schools in Florida, Georgia, even South Carolina, but one college felt like the right fit for Micayla Pickle, a senior and varsity soccer player at Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville.
Today, the 17-year-old began the next chapter of her life with the signing of her official paperwork to play women's soccer next year at Andrew College, a small, private two-year liberal arts school in Cuthbert, Ga.

"Today was awesome," Pickle said Wednesday. "I woke up this morning and I couldn't stop smiling."
According to Andrew College, last year the school committed to an increased emphasis on women's soccer with the hiring of Cory Harbinson, the first coach dedicated to Women's Soccer in Andrew College history. Harbinson was on hand at Sandalwood this morning to support Pickle as she made her commitment to the school.
Pickle has been a varsity starter the last four years. She played midfielder and averaged nine goals and 23 assists per season. Harbinson told Pickle the plan is for her to start the Women's Soccer season at Andrew playing Right Wing.
Pickle tells us this is a big deal for her, as Andrew College could open new doors for her soccer career.
"Andrew College is right for me," added Pickle. "I can't wait."
