Southeast Toyota unveils ideas for new vehicle accessories

Many of the latest Toyota accessories are born and built in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Florida – Let me stress I am NOT a "car person".
I don't need the newest model on the block, like an Apple junkie longs for the company's latest i-Anything.

However, I can appreciate a sleek accessory or two.

And when there's news of accessory packages full of cool gadgets that could soon be revealed out of Southeast Toyota's processing facilities here in Jacksonville, I wanted to be among the first to see them.

At a media meet-and-greet, we got a look at what goes on behind the working warehouse doors at Southeast Toyota's Westlake processing facility; a sprawling 250 acres on Jacksonville's Westside where the actual ideas for new vehicle bells and whistles are born and built.

When you check out the photos, you see some of the ideas being batted around by a team of accessory creators at Westlake.

Upgrades being discussed for the Tundra; grated step bars attached to the running boards, and gas caps matching the newly-designed tires and pocket flares from this year's X-Series.

There are a ton of ideas for the Camry; blacked-out decals, dual-chrome exhausts, an added overhang at the car's belly and back panels, curvy yellow LED daytime running lights, and a set of wheels that add a touch of "Fast & Furious" flair to it's chrome rims.

If none of that does it for you, perhaps a patriotic pitch will make you proud, knowing the good ol' U-S-of-A has taken over when it comes to building Toyota Tundras, Tacomas and most of the Camrys you see here on the road.

Southeast Toyota Distributors is owned by JM Family Enterprises, Inc., an automotive industry conglomerate headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Florida supplying Toyotas to 176 independent Toyota dealerships in 5 southeastern states (FL, GA, AL, NC, SC) through it's processing and distribution centers in Jacksonville, and Commerce, Georgia.
