Detectives with the St. Augustine Police Department arrested 48-year-old David Gernot May on July 11 on one count of lewd or lascivious molestation, police said.
According to police, an investigation began in the middle of January after May allegedly touched a young female victim inappropriately through her clothing.

Police said that May was in the victim's home, and the girl's mother had witnessed May touching the girl and told him to get out of her home.
Special Victims detectives continued the investigation and obtained a warrant for May who was arrested with the help of the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
