JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The office of State Attorney Angela Corey has filed a motion to dismiss a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by the office's former IT director.

Before the George Zimmerman trial began, Ben Kruidbos testified that prosecutors withheld evidence from the defense team. He was later placed on paid leave and was terminated July 11.

Kruidbos claims he was fired in retaliation for his testimony.

He is asking for $5 million in the lawsuit.

The state attorney's office could not comment on its motion due to pending litigation and the fact that the case involves a personnel matter.
