'Super Drew' returns home and to church

Drew returns to church for Super Sunday Part 2: The Return of Drew

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – 'Super Drew' is thanking his church family at first Baptist of Orange Park and everyone else around the world who's prayed for him over the past few weeks.

Drew's been fighting a rare form of leukemia and spent nearly a month at Wolfson Children's Hospital battling for his life.

Many remember a strong request Drew left for everyone: "Pray for me."

Those prayers were answered; Drew was able to come home after 22 days.

Sunday morning he and his family got the chance to go back to church for super Sunday Part 2: The Return of Drew, and in superhero fashion.

Drew's pastor says they were all happy to have the family back.

"It's great to have the whole family together especially after all he's gone through, didn't exactly know what God's will was in this but we were willing to say yes to him and to be able to stand on stage with Jon and Mandi and Drew and his brother and sister the whole family it was just a very special moment," said Pastor David Tarkington.

Many of Drew's family was there dressed in their exclusive red Super Drew T-shirts. At home, drew and his siblings were not afraid to show them off. The back reads hashtag #prayfordrew.

Now that he's home, drew gets to go back to school -- something so simple to other parents. Drew's mom says it's one of many routines she's now learned to cherish.

"I found myself just taking life for granted and a couple weeks of what we went through in the hospital and fighting for our life just made me appreciate just having us all in the living room again back together a lot," said Mandi Wood.
