Target lowers minimum purchase rate for free shipping

Customers now have to spend less at Target than Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy for free shipping

JACKSONVILLE, Fl. – Target is offering customers a break when it comes to shipping.

Time reports, customers can now receive free shipping by making online purchases worth a minimum of $25.  Customers previously had to spend $50 to not have to pay for shipping.

Target's rate to receive free shipping is lower that what Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy offer.  Customers buying from Amazon must make a purchase of at least $35.  It's the same for Best Buy.  Walmart offers free shipping on purchases of at least $50.  Amazon does offer free shipping to its Amazon Prime users.  With the membership customers don't have to spend a minimum to receive free shipping on select items.  An Amazon Prime membership cost $99 a year.

Target does offer free shipping to customers with its RedCard.  RedCard Customers can make a purchase worth any amount and not have to worry about dishing out extra money for shipping.  The RedCard also gives shoppers a 5-percent discount on the total purchase.  The RedCard comes as a debit or credit card.
