Police: 2 Met Through Personal Ad On Craigslist

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 19-year-old who police believe stabbed and killed a woman he met through a personal ad on Craigslist was arrested Saturday in Charleston, S.C.

On Monday morning, Jacksonville police announced that David Sparre, who lives in Georgia, was identified as a suspect last week after a search of Pools telephone and computer records.

Sparre was located over the weekend by the U.S. Marshals Service at a relative's house and Sparre was arrested on a murder warrant.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Lt. Larry Schmitt said Sparre contacted Pool after she posted an ad in the personals section of the online classified site.

"I'm not going to get into specifics, but he replied to her ad on craigslist, and that's how they met," Schmitt said.

Police said the two communicated online and by phone for a few days, then he drove to Jacksonville to meet her on July 8. Investigators believe the two drove to her apartment together, which is where she was stabbed multiple times.

Police said Sparre left the apartment complex in her car, which was found abandoned near where the two had met earlier in the day.

According to police, Sparre admitted to killing Pool, but did not say why.
