MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. – Brevard County fire rescue officials said they transported a teenager who was bit by a shark Saturday morning.
Officials said the teenager was bit while in the water in the 9300 block of A1A in Melbourne Beach before noon.

According to officials, the teenager was bitten in the ankle by a shark, but his injuries were not life threatening.
The teenager was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he was being treated.
