DEARBORN, Mich. -

Ahead of the iconic car's 50th anniversary, Ford has just unveiled an all-new, completely redesigned Mustang.

The car maker held unveiling ceremonies in 6 different cities worldwide.

According to Ford, the 2015 Mustang has more power, better fuel economy and -- for the first time since the 1980s -- it's also available with a four-cylinder engine.

Also for the first time ever in a base model Mustang, the new car will have fully independent rear suspension.

Ford isn't saying how much the new Mustang will cost.

The current Mustang starts around $23,000.

A convertible version will also be offered.
