3rd drive-by shooting in under 24 hours

Victim was shot at apartment complex

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating the third drive-by shooting in Jacksonville since Friday evening.

The latest shooting happened about 2 p.m. Saturday at the Roosevelt Garden Apartments of Lincoln Court. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tells News4Jax a man was walking when a car pulled up beside him. The men in the car got into an argument with the walker. A short time later a silver, gray or white Impala drove up and shot the man.

JSO says the victim was shot in the leg and taken to UF Health. A condition and the person's identity is not known at this time.

Police continue to investigate a drive-by shooting that 12 hours earlier at Club Steppin' Out on North Pearl Street and West 17th Street.

One man was hospitalized after he was shot several times while standing outside the club. According to officers, his injuries are not life-threatening.

Officers tell News4Jax that they don't know exactly how many shots were fired, but they believe all the shots came from the same gun, and they think the gun was fired from from a car driving by.

Friday evening two young men were shot on Scott Woods Drive in Northwest Jacksonville.

Police said that two young men were sitting on the front porch of a home when a black vehicle drove-by and shots were fired out of it.

The young men were struck by the gunfire but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Officials with JSO said that the young men were not cooperating with police and they have not identified the person driving the car.
